Cake Designs

We will design the perfect wedding cake just for you and according to you. Any designs from classic, elegant, traditional, contemporary , whimsical or other are welcomed to order.

You may want to provide a picture or inspiration of one or we may suggest designs and shapes like beadwork, grapevine, ribbons, feathers, polka dots, fresh flowers, fondant/gum paste flowers and so on. Also, cakes can be stacked or separated or have entirely different shapes, heights and flavours!

Below you will find suggested and tested cakes that have won many customers’ hearts. Our regular cakes are not suitable for stacking- those recipes can be applied to a single tiered cakes one only.

Chocolate and Orange Bourbon Cake - Rich chocolate pound cake layered with orange bourbon buttercream.

Lemon and Blueberry Cake - Lemon and blueberry pound cake layered with lemon buttercream.

Rum Battercake - Moist rum cake filled with lime butter cream , and pineapple.

Red Velvet Cake - Striking red appearance; moist and tender crumb with light chocolate flavour layered with cream cheese frosting.

Harvest Spiced Cake - Spiced rich pound cake (gingerbread) layered with maple and roasted hazelnut buttercream.

Carrot Cake  - Extremely moist carrot, raisin, pineapple and coconut cake with or without nuts filled with whipped vanilla bean cream cheese.

Marble Cake: Chocolate and Vanilla Swirl - Moist marbled pound cake layered with Irish Cream buttercream.

Mocha and Almond Cake - Wonderfully moist almond butter cake filled with coffee buttercream and chocolate ganache.

Fresh Fruit Genoese Cake - Light sponge vanilla cake layered with hint of fresh mint buttercream and fresh berries.

Please note that all buttercream cakes should be served at room temperature.

Pricing

Average cost of our wedding cakes range from $400.00 – $1,500.00.

Our buttercream finished cakes start $3.75 per serving (token size).

Our fondant finished cakes start from $4.25 per serving.

Royal Icing finished cakes start from $4.50 per serving.

Marzipan covered cakes start from $ 5.25 per serving.

Pricing includes: Cake, basic decorations (borders, scroll work, ribbons, feathers, pearls) and all “architectural” support (pillars, dowel rods, separator plates), filling, icing and finish, decorated cake plate.

More elaborate borders, filigree hand work, customized shapes, extensive borders, difficult edible metallic colours, edible glitter, gum paste or fondant flowers will be charged in addition to basic cost.

Tasting and Consultation

Final pricing for custom cakes requires consultation. First half an hour of consultation is free; the charge of $45.00 per hour will be added to your final bill for additional time, if needed.

You are most welcome to book your tasting session. We charge for the tasting session the cost of cakes tasted (up to 3 flavours) to cover our labour, ingredients and time . This cost would always go towards your final bill should you choose to book your special cake with us, therefore no extra charge will be added.

Extras and Delivery

  • We offer cake stands for rental, deposit is required. Should the cake stand be damaged, no refund will be issued. All wedding cake stands must be returned within 48 hours after the wedding, otherwise a rental fee of $15.00 per day applies. Usual rental fee is $35.00- $100.00. We also require damage deposit in forms of credit card that we will keep on file until prompt return of all rentals.

  • We do charge extras on certain designs where applicable, like handmade gum paste flowers of your choice. The cost is averaging $15.00-$60.00 per flower.

  • All fresh flower decorations must be ordered from your florist and delivered to the bakery 24 hrs before the delivery or pick up. SARAJ Bakery does not assume responsibility for this task.

  • Delivery charges between Wolfville and Coldbrook are $50.00. Please inquire about special deliveries or beyond this distance. Our task is to deliver cake to premises specified and have somebody sign for the cake. If you do require us to set up your cake on the table, apply decorations or similar we will charge a set up fee, depending on the complexity of wanted presentation.

  • Set –up fee (if required) starts at $50.00 and up.

  • Some cakes are quite heavy, weighing over 20 even 30 pounds. For this type of cakes, we require extra support in form of plywood, aesthetically covered in foil or other eye pleasing material. Cake boards start from $30.00 and up, depending on its size.

Booking, Payment And Cancellation Policy

All our bookings require 50% NON REFUNDABLE deposit. Payment in full must be made one month prior to the pick up or delivery. If the cake is paid in full, we allow for cancellation only until 3 weeks prior to set date. No refunds will be issued after that date.

We accept VISA, MC, cash or debit. For more elaborate and extensive cakes, or cakes on budget we can offer a convenient payment plan that will suit your needs and budget.

No date will be held and no booking will be final unless deposit is paid in full.

" menu with favourites such as freshly baked morning pastries, fresh and grilled sandwiches, savoury pies and pastries, gourmet soups (from our Executive chef's bottomless recipe treasure), Mediterranean and Middle eastern fare quick meals, organic and fair trade specialty coffees and exotic, decadent European desserts!
